Enough about me, time to focus on YOU.⁠ This is my last measurements post. It's safe to say that in 20 weeks of living the ModLife and 14 weeks of measuring myself, The ModLife formula works. I've not cut anything out, just cut back on how much I eat and when I treat myself, exercised regularly, got 7 hours of sleep/night, drink 2L of water daily and eaten to 80% full. I have more energy, better resilience, increased confidence, improved productivity, I'm fitter, stronger and proud of my body. 💨 ALTERNATIVE FORMS OF CARDIO ⛹🏽‍♂️🏊🏽‍♂️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For me, cardio is something I struggle to motivate to do after or before workouts. Riding a stationary bike, running on the treadmill, or climbing on the stair master don’t hold my attention for long even though I know it’s beneficial for me. As you saw in my last post, I try to implement techniques in my training to emulate cardio, but it still won’t compare to actually doing it. Here are some great alternative if hopping on a cardio machine isn’t for you1 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1️⃣ Hiking: hiking is a great way to get a change of scenery while going for a walk! The best thing about it is you can find hikes with different difficulties. If you’re louoking a challenge, choose one with a large elevation change. 2️⃣ Pick-up Games: pick up games of soccer or basketball are a great way to get cardio in. I’m personally a basketball guy and running up and down the court for a couple hours will definitely get you in shape. 3️⃣ Boxing: I’ve seen a huge popularity surge of people boxing now, and for good reason! Hitting the bag for 10-30 mins will get your entire body working. 4️⃣ Swimming: it’s harder than it looks! I’m a little late to post this but here’s a short home workout I did a few weeks back which requires minimal equipment. My go to tips when exercising during pregnancy: 1) listen to your body - there will be days when you’re mentally and physically exhausted and doing weights isn’t your thing. Instead a nice walk or some meditation may be your go to 2) don’t try anything new - if you’re not used to lifting weights, running or boxing for example don’t try it now. Always seek professional help prior to starting a new exercise program 3) set yourself little goals - at the moment mine is to maintain a 10,000 step day regardless if I’m exercising or not 4) as the trimesters progress your body WILL change and anything overhead in the third trimester is not recommended 5) lastly, exercise is healthy for you and the bub. I know transformation Tuesday is usually a side by side. But this picture shows a huge transformation. - I am able to run alongside my kid in his power wheel without wanting to die. There is absolutely NO WAY that I would’ve been able to due this last June. - I may not be where I want to be in my journey right now, but this picture that my hubby snapped speaks volumes to me. - This right here was one of my main motivations to start getting healthy. Workouts while traveling ✈️. . Exercising regularly- whether it’s for general health, performance or aesthetic goals- is a lifestyle HABIT. . When you travel why would you throw that habit out the window? Do you stop taking showers or brushing your teeth when you’re not in your own home? (I sure hope not! 🤣) . I understand it can be inconvenient to exercise while traveling, but it’s not impossible. Majority of cities/towns have a gym and offer day passes, but if you’re in a remote environment, at least get moving! 🏃‍♀️ You don’t need a gym to go for a run, do plyometric or body weight movements. . Tight schedule? Wake up earlier! ⏰ A 30 min workout will leave you feeling more satisfied and energized than skipping it altogether. . Tough love time 👊: I’m tired of people making excuses they aren’t where they want to be, but aren’t willing to put in the effort it takes to reach their goals 🙄. No one wants to come home after a trip feeling worse than they did before they left. . I’ve been traveling for the past 13 days 😅🧳 between New Hampshire and Florida, and haven’t missed a single workout. Not tooting my own horn, but I don’t preach anything I don’t live by myself... Was it easy? No way! But I have goals and commitments I’ve made to myself that I will 100% follow through with 💪🏽. No matter where in the world I am, this is my lifestyle. . 👉 Note: I’m not suggesting nodaysoff, but my point is that traveling isn’t an excuse to be lazy or throw your goals out the window. If you’re seeking change, learn to get comfortable with uncomfortable situations ✈️

Day 6... my second arm day! As you can tell, I clearly have zero muscles on my arms or pretty much anywhere on my body 😂. Sometimes it’s a bit discouraging when everyone else in the gym is really fit and muscular, but at the same time it’s also really motivating! My arms hurt a ton and I tried to leave before pushing myself too much. I wish there were a way to slice off my love handles, but by working out my whole body I’m hoping they will eventually go away! ✨You know what's rad?⁣✨ ⁣ 🔸Letting yourself sleep because you know you show up as your best self when you do.⁣ 🔸Realising that you have choices. Some choices you make are hard because you really want the other thing but you’re smart with what is going to serve you long term.⁣ 🔸Spending time to reflect on your own shiz to become a better human.⁣ 🔸Being okay with life fluctuating: some weeks look like 4 lifting sessions some look like 2 and that’s cool because you're always doing the best you can and you have your non-negotiables in CHECK.⁣ 🔸Giving people the benefit of the doubt to free yourself from blame. ⁣ 🔸Reading, learning but then applying the knowledge to progress.⁣ 🔸Messy action. Always.⁣ 🔸Hydration.⁣ 🔸Having boundaries, even when it's uncomfortable.⁣ 🔸Being clear on what your values are and living by them. BUT also knowing that sometimes you don’t because you make a different choice but dat’s cool because you see the gift and the lesson and know you can always come back to your highest self in which those values define.⁣ 🔸Giving people high fives and hugs. Like, real big genuine hugs because you give a damn.⁣ 🔸Authenticity.⁣ 🔸Doing things to develop more self awareness: journaling, asking for feedback, meditation, breath work.⁣ 🔸Seeing exercise and nutrition as tools to help you be a stronger, more resilient and robust human, but they aren’t who you are.⁣ 🔸Having clear hell yes’s and hell no’s for what you want in your life.⁣ 🔸But also being okay when you’re in the mucky grey zone of feeling unsure because you have faith in yourself that you’ll find the way.⁣ 🔸Giving kind, genuine comments to strangers (‘That shirt is rad! It also makes your eyes sparkle.’) ⁣ 🔸Making decisions based on your internal cues rather than external cues.⁣ 🔸Sweet potato with lashings of cinnamon and peanut butter. 🔸When you realise that having the ability to receive love is JUST as important as giving love (really, it’s more so. Because without being able to receive it’s hard to truly give).⁣ 🔸Feeling like your bod is more like your home than the enemy. 🔸Contributing to the world with your youness.⁣ ⁣ 👉👉👉Tell me what I’ve missed; what’s rad for you?!🖤

Aug 16, 2019 - Been very consistent with my diet, averaging: 🔻 ~50-80g of carb/day ~90-110g of protein/day ~40-60g of fat/day 🔻 As soon as it hits the weekend is when I start to lose myself, however I try my best to portion size the foods I crave throughout the week to fit within my macros. Lately, my cravings have escalated since I’m hitting the ‘end’ of my cut. I have decided to prolong my cut for another month to see how long I can last since I have not plateaued and I’m still dropping weight. This will be interesting. 🔻 I’m also very surprised on how very content I am with eating the same foods every week (also makes it easier to log). 🔻 So here are two short clips of hitting the same PRs I did back in May but with my lowest weigh in of ~50-51kg. 225x2 245x1 🔻 Happy lifting 🤙🏼
