Getting bored of lateral raises? Try these two alternatives! By changing the angle of the exercise you challenge the muscle in new ways. Plus they look cool. . 1. WHAT: Leaning lateral raise. HOW: Grab hold of a squat rack or cable machine with one hand, and hold a dumbbell in the other. Place your feet near the base of the machine and lean away from it. Perform your lateral raise as usual, making sure not to cheat with momentum. WHY: This variation puts the deltoid under tension for a greater range of motion, and greater overload at the top of the movement. TIP: Try this with a cable behind the back! . . 2. WHAT: Incline Side Lying Lateral Raise. HOW: Set an incline bench to 45-60 degrees. Place your knees on the bottom pad (or one knee on, other foot on the floor) and lean your torso against the bench. Hold a dumbbell in the non-smooshed arm and perform your lateral raise. WHY: This is a great isolation movement for the medial deltoid! TIP: Pick a light weight and don’t rest the dumbbell at the top or bottom of the movement. Quante cose cambiano in un anno. Esattamente 365 giorni fa in queste ore mi risvegliavo del tutto rintontito dall’anestesia per un’operazione chirurgica alla spalla. Accanto a me la mia famiglia, mia madre @soraja_pin811 mio padre e @vittoria.01 , tutti in ansia nel sapere come stessi. Al mio risveglio ricordo ancora il messaggio di @andrea_camerota che mi proponeva di lavorare in un centro fitness, pensavo di essermelo immaginato, che fossi rintontito dall’anestesia e di aver capito male 😂 I dolori, le fitte la notte, i pianti di nascosto, le scomodità. I primi esercizi di mobilità con @vittoria.01 che scrupolosamente mi aiutava a muovere il braccio di qualche centimetro, lei che rideva e a me che sembrava un traguardo. Gli ultimi esami ed una laurea da preparare. Tutto 365 giorni fa. E ora eccomi qua cresciuto professionalmente, con una voglia matta di migliorare ancora e ancora e ancora, di riprendermi tutto con gli interessi, con l’aiuto di @nicolafit92 .
