Balance. If you don’t use it you will surely lose it...an very quickly!⠀ ⠀ This is a progression from yesterday’s post. Today you are still going to do a single leg deadlift and add in a lateral hop. Which means you will be alternating which leg you balance on. ⠀ ⠀ •Single Leg Balance Lateral Skater•⠀ Begin on one leg and jump about 2-3 feet laterally landing on the opposite foot. Once landed complete a floor touch with the opposite hand. ⠀ ⠀ Once you’ve maintained your balance jump back to the other leg. Touching again with the opposite hand. ⠀ ⠀ You can do this one for time or repetitions. The trick is not to rush through. Be certain that you are maintaining your balance before jumping back to the other leg. ⠀ ⠀ 30 seconds on 15 seconds off for 4 minutes or 20x total reps for 3 sets. ⠀ ⠀ Every. Damn. I sprained my wrist back in october, and recovering to this level has been a RIDE... This was the first time muscling myself up in about 4 months. . . . Honestly I forgot out muscle ups for a while and when I got injured I was like, "HEY LETS DO MUSCLE UPS? OH WAIT! 😱 . . . Doing exercises that involved my wrist at <30% really helped, but to GET STRONGER I had to go through a week of serious wrist stretching. I am glad I did it, but it was not a joke. I had to move my wrist in different ppsitions to find the most painful spot, and hold it until the pain went away. . . . IT REALLY WORKED! When the day sucks, be kind to yourself and do what you enjoy doing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For me, that means push ups. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And in this instance, max weight push ups 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I started out with a 25lb plate, that felt easy so I thought I’d bang out two reps at 35lbs. To my surprise, that was relatively easy as well, so I thought I’d try one rep at 45lbs - I ended up getting THREE reps!! 😱 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With that alone I was pretty happy but thought heck, I may as well try 55lbs. Not sure what steroid water I drank (is that how you steroid?) but I ended up getting TWO push ups at 55lbs! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This really made me realize I underestimate myself so much, and that I am strong af 💁🏼‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ See you at 65. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In a nutshell, it’s powerful Cartwheel that ends with your feet together creating a whip like motion. It’s a great set up for moves like the back handspring and backflip variations. The following progressions demonstrated by GMB Trainer @eorihuela will help you with your Round Off! - Cartwheels: You’ll want to learn to Cartwheel with your legs directly overhead and your Cartwheel forming a straight line. When first learning, make it easier by forming more of a V shape and not kicking your legs as high. As you get more comfortable, begin kicking higher and decreasing the V shape. - Whip: Practice making your round off powerful by kicking up into a handstand and whip your feet down to your hands. You can also use a wall if you need the assistance. - Finish your Cartwheel with your legs together, with a whip, and then finish with a slight knee bend to get an extra bounce when you land. Finish hollow with your arms overhead and by your ears.
