Happy Birthday to our 64 years ago, on May 24th 1956, the very 1st Contest was held in Lugano, 🇨🇭 Over the years, the Contests saw many songs, winners, artists and made generations of people happy and still does 💖 HAPPY BIRTHDAY EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 🎉

Teatro Kursaal (the venue of first ever on this day in 1956) was done dirty. It closed down in 1997 and was demolished in 2001. It’s another generic looking casino now. It’s named Casino Lugano. Damn.

Today in 2003 the last pre-semi era in Riga. Jemini Nul Points, Austrian Alf, tight three way fight at the top, controversial Russians, a made-up language from Belgium, but Sertab inches to a two-point Turkish triumph. 🇹🇷

As well as the 1956 contest on this day the 2003 & 2008 Song Contests took place. Turkey won in Riga represented by Sertab Erenerand "Everyway That I Can". While in 2008 Russia took its first victory with Dima Bilan and "Believe". What's your thoughts on the songs?

The best thing ever happened exactly 64 years ago. The first took place and history was made. It has been such a big part of my life for so many years and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Cheers to all my ESC friends.

As usual, I have the viewing figures for you. The 2003 was viewed 60.000 times tonight!

ABBA will release two new singles later this year, according to a recent interview with band member Björn Ulvaeus. One of the songs will be titled “I Still Have Faith in You”, and the other is reportedly called “Don’t Shut Me Down”.
