So sad to see these iconic just disappearing without any fanfare. At least this one had a last hurrah by flying across the iconic skyline one last time. I fear this situation will change commercial for ever.

Boeing is still building them, just for cargo. I was up at Everett six weeks ago and saw a few coming off the production line.

Only the freighter version and for one client only.

Reduction in demand, cost of operating, end of life, so many reasons right now.

Are you still type rated for the 747 Scottie or do you lose that now you’ve moved to the 350? 🤔

My type rating expires in July. Although I wouldn’t be classed as “current”.

Just noticed the reverse thrust seemed to cut in on touch down, Captain. Is it due to the ambient hot air, a bit tight on the runway or too heavy?. Mmm probably neither of them.😊

Always selected regardless of performance.

Hey Scott, How many airlines still have a 747 flying??? After KLM and Qantas this weekend.

BA, China, Korean, Lufthansa, Wamos, are the majority I think.
